Recently, HQ has been contacted by Şansă pentru Şansă – meaning “The chance for a chance” - a non-governmental organization in Romania that strives to support those, and the families of those, who are fighting cancer. They are asking our community to help them design a logo for a new elementary school in Bucharest, Romania for children diagnosed with leukemia and cancer, the first of its kind in Romania.
deviantART invites you to enter this logo contest, named the Dreams of Snowdrops Contest, to help out this organization and school.

Here are the contest specifics:

What: The Dreams of Snowdrops (“Vise de Ghiocei”) Contest
Şansă pentru Şansă is looking for a logo that expresses the unique nature of their elementary school and the hope they give to children living with cancer and leukemia. Feel free to check out their Ning Home page for added inspiration when creating your design. Notice that their main visual element consists of two swans that are made of all the ribbons associated with a form a cancer or leukemia. This project is also themed around the Snowdrop flower, so feel free to include this flower in your design as well. Unleash your creativity because the sky's the limit!

The winner of this contest will be chosen by the organization’s President, Denis Ciumbargi, who will then contact the winner about further usage of the logo.

Who: This contest is open to everyone.

Where: All contest entries are to be submitted through #Contests, dA’s up-and-coming official contest group. Please submit your work to the Dreams of Snowdrops Gallery folder.

When: This contest runs from today until May 4, 2010. All entries must be submitted to the Dreams of Snowdrops Gallery in #Contests by May 4, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM PST.

Prizes: The winner will get 500 points, a free devWEAR shirt, and their winning logo deviation prominently placed on #Contests. After being contacted by the organization’s President, the winning artist will discuss the possibility of using the logo on the organization’s website and marketing materials (website prints, banners, advertisements).

The “Chance for a Chance” NGO now has a public profile on the world greatest community for art lovers and art creators, DeviantArt.com

All the art published on this profile is meant to make known the talent of all the people engaged in this project, either people diagnosed with cancer or leukemia that dedicate part of their energy in offering positive emotions for others, or volunteers.

Various creations will be available also for purchasing online and shipped to your door if you choose to help gathering financial resources for this NGO and if you would love to have original art in your home, unique items sometimes made by persons that are aware they don’t have a choice to win the fight against cancer or leukemia but choose to give a chance for others and also to be remembered trough their art.

The art can be purchased either by credit/debit card or PayPal.
